I made this cake for a good friend kid's 4th birthday. Once the chocolate dome is cracked with a toy hammer, the kids are surprised with goodies like more m&ms, coin chocolate, hershey kisses.....on a cake. As there was no where to put the candles, i made fondant cars and replace the driver with candle holders.
The goodies 'hidden" could be replaced with little toys or other snacks and sweets.
I really enjoyed making this cake as it was fun and when the kids' eyes light up with the surprise inside, it was a joy to see.
Cake comes in vanilla or chocolate sponge cake, carrot cake, butter cake or fruit cake.
